Resistant Dextrin (Soluble Tapioca Fiber)

Provides gentle prebiotic fiber support.*
What

Resistant dextrin is a soluble fiber derived from tapioca starch. It passes through the upper digestive system largely intact, then ferments slowly in the colon — producing beneficial short-chain fatty acids (butyrate, propionate, acetate) that support gut microbiome health.

GLPrelief includes 1g of resistant dextrin as a gentle prebiotic fiber source.

Why This Fiber — Not Inulin

This is one of the most important formulation decisions in GLPrelief. Most gut-health supplements use inulin (chicory root fiber) because it's cheap and well-studied. But inulin ferments rapidly in the gut, producing significant gas, bloating, and cramping — the exact symptoms GLP-1 users are already trying to manage.

Resistant dextrin was chosen because it ferments slowly, producing the same beneficial short-chain fatty acids without the rapid gas production. For a population with existing GI sensitivity, this distinction is critical.

Why not these alternatives?
Fiber Type
Inulin (chicory root) Rapid fermentation → gas, bloating, cramping. Inappropriate for GLP-1 users.
FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) Same rapid-fermentation problem as inulin. Known for flatulence.
Psyllium husk Gel-forming in liquid. Unpleasant texture in drink-mix format.
Supports

Gentle prebiotic fiber support. Resistant dextrin supports digestive regularity and gut microbiome health through slow colonic fermentation — without the gas and bloating associated with faster-fermenting fibers.*
