Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract

Supports natural energy metabolism.* Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract — GLPrelief ingredient
What

Rhodiola Rosea is a flowering plant that grows in cold, mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. Classified as an adaptogen — a natural substance that helps the body adapt to physical and mental stress — it has been used in traditional Scandinavian and Russian medicine for centuries.

GLPrelief uses a Rhodiola Rosea root extract standardized to 3% salidrosides, the primary bioactive compounds responsible for Rhodiola's energy-supporting properties.

Why We Chose It

Energy dips and fatigue are among the most commonly reported quality-of-life concerns for GLP-1 medication users. When caloric intake decreases significantly and the body is adapting to metabolic changes, perceived energy and mental stamina can decline.

Rhodiola was selected as a stimulant-free energy support. Unlike caffeine — which was deliberately excluded from GLPrelief due to its potential to worsen acid reflux, nausea, and anxiety — Rhodiola supports the body's natural stress-adaptation pathways without the jitters, crashes, or GI irritation associated with stimulants.

It works through a fundamentally different mechanism: supporting how the body responds to stress, rather than artificially overriding fatigue signals.

Form & Standardization

Rhodiola extracts are typically standardized to two families of active compounds: rosavins and salidrosides. GLPrelief's extract is standardized to 3% salidrosides — the compound class most directly associated with energy metabolism and stress-adaptation signaling.

The Research

Rhodiola has been studied in clinical trials for fatigue, exercise performance, and stress response. A meta-analysis published in Frontiers in Nutrition evaluated its effects on endurance exercise performance. A systematic review assessed its use across stress-related conditions at various doses and standardizations.

The evidence base is supportive of Rhodiola's adaptogenic properties, though most clinical research has used higher doses with dual standardization (rosavins + salidrosides). GLPrelief's claims for Rhodiola are kept conservative and focused on general energy metabolism support.

No direct studies in GLP-1 medication users have been conducted.
